OUR CREATOR CAN ALSO BE KNOWN
This universe is so vast that it staggers our feeble intellects when we begin to think about it. For example, our universe stretches so far that it takes light, traveling at 186,282 miles per second, 10-13 billion years to make the journey from one end of the known universe to the other! I have read that just one star, out of the millions that God created, burns up in energy the equivalent of 100,000,000,000 barrels of oil per minute! These kinds of figures are difficult for most of us to comprehend!
With all of this in mind, however, let me ask you to think about the following. For the Creator of our vast universe to lay aside all of His authority and take on the form of His creation in the land of Israel long ago is astonishing. You would think that at least He would have appeared as an adult in Caesar’s family in order to command some sort of respect while working out His mission on this planet. Instead, though, He arrived through the human birth process, was born in the midst of poverty, and came even to a minority race! Yet through this unique Son, God changed the course of this world because of that first Christmas.
And unlike other leaders from the past, Jesus Christ is not just remembered today; He is actually alive! That is, He lives today as surely as He did over 2000 years ago when He was born to a teen-age Jewish girl.
I trust that you know this living Christ of Christmas personally, because, as surely as He was born and lives, He will also reappear visibly and physically to this earth once again (Acts 1:11) to redeem the saved and judge the lost. Let this be our Christmas message to a world without Jesus Christ.
Devotedly your pastor,
Bill Blanchard
